Plan-G / Re: V3.2.0 does not load database
« Last post by jank1 on Yesterday at 03:47:46 PM »
For 2 days I have searched the net for a solution to install 4.6.2, but found nothing. Anybody here who can help me.
In one forum one said that 7.1 is crap, and that Microsoft agreed tho that. And that Microsoft probably could withdraw the version.

Had an interesting conversation with Microsoft Support (in India) today.

Plan-G / Can't change Plan-G Files folder name
« Last post by ChuckOman on Yesterday at 01:44:30 AM »
Tim - I have both P3Dv3.4 and P3Dv4.1 on my system.  Had set Plan-G 3.1 paths to read scenery.cfg in P3Dv3.4, and put databases in ..Documents\Plan-G files per usual.
Recently downloaded new Plan-G v3.2, and pointed it at P3Dv4.1 scenery.cfg.
Noticed that Plan-G 3.2\Databasse\Settings now allows user to set the path to Plan-G files folder, so thought I could write the Plan-G 3.2 data into a different folder, ...Documents\Plan-G v3.2 files, to keep the databases separate.
But when I built the P3D library it wrote the data into Documents\Plan-G, not new Plan-G v3.2 folder I'd specified.
Is this a bug ?

More generally, what advice do you have for those of us who would like to have separate databases for P3Dv3 and P3Dv4 ?

Chuck

It appears to be working with a couple of minor issues.

The "Traffic list" seems to be in a random order.

There are multiple exceptions repeated in the log file:

22:04:00.8 sc_OnRecvSimobjectDataBytype: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
   at Plan_G3.Model.bb_SimConnect.sc_OnRecvSimobjectDataBytype(SimConnect sender, SIMCONNECT_RECV_SIMOBJECT_DATA_BYTYPE data)

Log attached.

I did that, I found no references to Plan-G in the log file. I tried - Search -> "Plan-G" and nothing.

Hahahahaha, Ok, sorry about all the confusion, I was able to "transplant" the Plan G Files folder over to my laptop and connect to the main computer via simconnect following the instructions you gave me, I just want to say I really appreciate your help and commitment to help us out, I would even say this support is better than many other payware tools for Flight Sim.

Thank you and regards from Colombia, South America.

... however, after three attempts it finally accepted the new location.

Then, it took two attemps to set the IP address and port.

Log attached.

Plan-G / Missing Approaches
« Last post by Wakner on November 20, 2017, 07:46:13 PM »
Hi all

I'm a new user of Plan G with P3Dv4 and having a problem with missing approaches - for example, EGLL should obviously have a whole bunch of them but all I see is a single GPS approach for 9L ... this is similar for a bunch of other airports which I know have various approaches but just show a single GPS approach (and always GPS).

I know that the approach data is properly available in the P3D nav database (as I can see them through the in-sim GPS panel) - I have also used FSAerodata to update the P3D database.

Any ideas gratefully received!

Thanks

That is still no good.

The initial action, InitDataFolder. is to set he path to Plan-G Files to C:\Users\Admin\Documents\

Unfortunately, one cannot set the path before creating the database.

The next step is to look at the simconnect log file. For this you will need to activate simconnect logging:

Create a SimConnect.ini file in your My Documents\Prepar3D Files folder.

Paste into it the following:

Quote
[SimConnect]
level=verbose
console=1
file=c:\simconnect%03u.log
file_next_index=0
file_max_index=9

This will create a simconnect000.log file in your C:\ folder (you may change the path) when P3d runs. Beware, it will get very big very quickly.

Run P3d and Plan-G and attempt to connect.
Close down P3d.
Open the log file in notepad and search for any references to Plan-G. Report back what it says.

When you're done, you'll want to remove or rename this ini file, otherwise it'll quickly fill up your hard drive with log files!

Please try the attached test build. Back up your existing Plan-G3.exe, then Unzip it into your Plan-G folder.

Note that it will clear your settings.
