« on: July 08, 2015, 02:26:49 AM »
To all that can help,
After reading the great stuff about Plan G i downloaded and installed it all seemed to go well but the software is not connecting to P3D i ran simmconnet from plan g and from P3D and still not connecting ?  I am pretty sure its something i did wrong but i don't know where to look. All help will be greatly appreciated as i am looking forward to flying with the software.

The log you uploaded doesn't show a connection attempt. Could you maybe try again and upload a new log?

Right now all I can suggest is check your simconnect.xml is in the right place (I think it's different for P3D than FSX), and that the number in the file match the numbers in your connect box. Maybe if you could attach the xml file too, that'll help.

Tim i was not able to find the siimconnect.xml file. I looked everywhere . I can set up a log me in if you wish and you can access my computer. the only thing this computer is used for is the sim.
by the way running windows 8.1 p3d and Plan G stared as admin

There's still no connection attempt in the log.

Delete the log file, run Plan-G, click the Connect button, wait for the error, shut down Plan-G, upload the log.

You may not have a SimConnect.xml - it's a file you have to create yourself, and if you didn't create it, well you won't have it. If you're only using a single PC, you probably don't need it, since P3D/FSX will set up default values.

Tim Thanks for you patience with me but its still not connecting. Uninstalled and reinstalled Plan G deleted the log file and attached is the new one, still no connection. I also ran both Plan G and P3D as admin all . Please note that i have ASN and FSUIPC (paid) I am going to try Xplane with it now and will report if it connects. No error just not conneting the P3D button is yellow and when clicked it seems to be loading but nothing.

Okay, can you try doing a screenshot that shows the connection dialog and the parameters you have set in it. And then one of the error message. There is absolutely no indication in any of the logs that you're attempting a connection.

We'll get to the bottom of it, but I do need to see what's going on. ;)

That's a DotNet error. Did your son do any system updates? Cos it looks like DotNet has got mucked up. First thing to do is go to the Microsoft download site and install any DotNet patches they have there, then see if that fixes it.

Tim i purchased a new HD/SSD and decided to do a fresh install of everything Even windows. and wala(dont think i spelled that right)  its all working perfect and everything seems to be stable and getting along. your software is even better the i ever expected. I owe you many thanks one for the software and the other for trying to get it to work on the PC that must have screwed up. I will be taking the manual to work for some reading at lunch.   TO ALL THAT READ THIS POST THIS IS A PLUS STUFF AND TIM IS A STAND UP GUY.

Thanks
